Our Year 7 girls football team played against Thomas Estley this week, in the play off match to go through as the winners of the Blaby and Harborough league, to then further compete in the first round of the County Cup knock out stages ⚽
We conceded our 3rd goal of the competition in the first 10 minutes, however the girls didn’t drop their heads and showed great resilience, with Lola lobbing the keeper as she noticed the goalkeeper off her line.
The girls continued to apply the pressure and showed some fantastic football, with Shay scoring a fantastic goal taking us into half time with a 2-1 lead.
Thomas Estley started the second half strong and applied the pressure to our defense, leading them to score, making it 2-2. However, our Year 7 girls bounced back with many shots on target and some lovely football, allowing Lola to put another goal passed their keeper to make it 3-2 🏆
It was a great game to watch, and we now qualify as the Blaby and Harborough champions to the County Cup knock out stages - well done girls!
