We are proud to announce that Countesthorpe Leysland Community College have been awarded the Dallaglio Rugby Works School of the Year award at an event in London last night (Monday 25th June 2018).
Schools were nominated for demonstrating a commitment to their young people, in particular those young people who would benefit from the intervention of the RugbyWorks coaches. We were one of four schools nationally to be nominated.
We have worked with the Dallaglio RugbyWorks team over the last year to provide a number of our students the chance to develop their educational skills using the sport of rugby as an inspiration.
Dallaglio RugbyWorks sent their coaching team to work with our staff and students to provide a number of weekly workshops in which students developed their life skills. Additionally, the RugbyWorks coaches have arranged some work experience placements at Halfords to further develop the young people’s skillset.
Once the students involved in this excellent programme leave our school, the RugbyWorks team will continue to work with them helping them to find suitable training schemes or jobs.
We are extremely proud of all the staff and students involved in this excellent programme.
