Countesthorpe Academy Shines at Community Awards Evening

On Thursday 25th January, Blaby Parish Council held their annual Community Awards Ceremony at the Council Chambers.

Countesthorpe Academy student Mili Mai Dunn, nominated for young volunteer of the year, raised £117.50 for Motor Neurone Disease, inspired by her grandfather's battle. At the ceremony, she secured second place, winning £50 from Serco and the chance to nominate a charity for £500 from the Love Blaby Lottery. Congratulations, Mili!

Our staff members Mrs. Frain, Ms. Denston, and Mrs. Miller, were surprise winners of volunteers of the year, for all their hard work aiding Ukraine families with their Saturday sessions at Countesthorpe Academy. Their impactful work formed a supportive community hub, earning them £100 from Serco and the opportunity to nominate a charity for £750 from the Love Blaby Lottery.

Thank you to all who voted for them!
