Our Year 7, 8 and 9 girls football teams finished their league games this week, with some excellent football on show ⚽
The Year 7’s went into their final league game only conceding two goals from their previous two games. The game kicked off slowly and it took a while for both teams to get going, however once our first goal was scored by Lola we didn’t stop! The first half finished 6-0, and a change in player at half term meant all the girls got enough game time. The second half saw some attacking play from the opposition, but our defence was able to deal with the pressure, getting the ball up the pitch to allow us to score another 5 goals, which resulted in an 11-0 win! Goals came from Lola(4), Shay(3), Lillie(2), Erin(1) and Olivia (1) 🏆
On the other pitch, our Year 8 and 9 girls played with great resilience! The whole team tried their best, however the Welland Park girls were the stronger side. Despite the result, the girls came away with a smile on their face and are looking forward to next year, where most will be joined by the Year 7 girls.
