June is Pride month and to celebrate our House Leaders and students have decorated the Academy with rainbows and flags 🌈 Students also had an assembly which explained the origins of Pride and why it is still extremely important today.
To round off our Pride celebrations, Friday 23rd June will encompass the theme of ‘Be Yourself’. Students and staff are encouraged to swap one item of their uniform for something rainbow, or colourful.
This can be an accessory or garment, but please remember to wear the rest of your school uniform and lanyard as normal.
Students wishing to do so can pay £1 via ParentPay – all money raised from the day will be divided between the LGBT Centre in Leicester and House Recognition Events.
There will also be a bake sale in the circle during lunch time, so please don’t forget your spare change! 🧁
