Year 7 Girls reach the Cup Final ⚽

After a hard fought game against tough opposition, we are proud to announce that our Year 7 Girls have reached the County Cup Final!

This week our Year 7 Girls Football team played their semi-final fixture against a determined Gartree High School team, but through hard work they came out victorious with scoring 5 goals to their 2.

The girls played some fantastic football, working together as a team and making good use of the space they created. Once settled into the game, the goals started to flow. With an opener from Lillie followed by two more from Lola our team were 3 nil up by half time.

After a team talk from Mrs Rose, a couple of team changes, and some sweets(!!) the girls went back out to find a reinvigorated Gartree team. With a quick goal from Aimee, we were 4-0 up, but Gartree put the pressure on us managing to score two goals (one from the penalty spot). However our girls really did define our school value of resilience by battling on and securing a 5th goal in the dying seconds of the game to make the final score 5-2 to us! 🏆

The player of the match was awarded to Lola, however all the girls showed great teamwork and respect.

The final is to be played on 15th May at Aylestone Park Football Club, 4pm KO. Good luck girls, we know you can do it!
